Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the impact of geomorphology of Alkarak city on defining land use and defining the geomophological process resulted from land use, and how to avoid the negative geomorphological impact due to land use. Three hazard zones recorded in the area: (Alberka zone, the Ashabeia and the Almarj area) respectively. Geomorphological map of the area was produced using high resolution satellite image showing the main geomorphologic units and the hazard zones, GPS was used to define the location of houses subjected to mass wasting, and modern subsidence in the area resulted from: urban expansion along the hill slopes, soil quality, geological structure, and roads construction.
