Abstract

This is a study dealing with the procedures of the Caliph al-Mahdi in the field of economic reform in the Abbasid state (158-169 AH / 774-785 AD), and the reason for the choice of economic reform because of the importance of the economic aspect in the dependence of all institutions on the resources of the economy in keeping with its affairs. The Abbasid state in a concrete way, identified the imbalances in the economic field and identified the negatives in this aspect, and sought to improve the performance of agricultural land, changed the system of abscess from the area system to the system of the division, to ensure fair collection, and appointed efficient abscess workers, and provided sources of irrigation for agricultural land, P He has encouraged the various industries, sought to build markets for the disposal of agricultural and industrial products, encouraged export operations, ensured the availability of currency and introduced new ones linked to the economic aspect.
