Abstract

This study aimed to identify the contribution of demographic variables: (Age, place of residence,, duration of marriage, number of children, and the level of education of both husband and wife), in predicting psychological hardiness upon divorced women. The sample consisted of (70) divorced women, from Assiut and Cairo: (33) rural, and (37) urban, their ages ranged between (20-53) years, with an average of (36,83, SD. 7,51) years,  the duration of marriage ranged between (1-30) years, with an average of (7,03 SD. 6.19) years. The psychological hardiness scale (prep.: Imad Mekhaimer),was applied to them. The results revealed that there is a contribution for the two variables: Wife's age and wife's education level in predicting psychological hardiness, while there was no contribution to other demographic variables: (place of residence, duration of the marriage, number of children, and the husband's education level).
