Community Culture Driving Illegal Iimmigration; A Study In Applied Anthropology

Abstract

The illegal immigration is an important issue; as a phenomenon where intervenes many parties inside and outside Egypt. It is also a problem; because of the immigrants suffering and the dangers in both transit and receiving countries, as well as their families  suffering in their origin countries; because of unsafe conditions faced by immigrants and that may destroy their lives. The main objective is to shed light on this phenomenon in Egypt; through  a local community which known as having a high level of illegal immigration.This research relied on an anthropological field study in the village of “Burj Rasheed” in Bohira governorate,  and used several tools; working directory, simple and in-depth interview, observation, and informants. The results based on three theoretical frameworks; Malinowski’s cultural needs theory, human capital theory, and social capital theory. The main  results are;                 
-The main reasons of illegal immigration in “Burj Rasheed” are primarily economic in nature
-There are other non-economic reasons such as; the desire to be free from the constraints of culture and community, as well as the desire to get rich quickly and simulation.
-successful immigration may contribute to satisfy basic needs of both immigrants, and their families
- The community culture support_ to a great extent_ illegal immigration

- There are positive effects of illegal immigration, particularly with regard to a successful trip, as well as negative effects with regard to unsuccessful trip.
