Framing The Trials of Former Egyptian Political Leaders in Print Media

Abstract

The problem of the study is analyzing and comparing the framing of the trials of former Egyptian Political leaders in print media through extraction of theses and analysis prove paths which are based on the discourse analysis and the actors and the framing within the sample of the newspapers ( Al-Ahram-Elwafd -Almasry Alyoum). This study belongs to descriptive studies concerned with studying the current situation of the phenomenon under study in order to obtain accurate and complete information and interpretation of the phenomenon, analyzing and getting conclusions and implications. The study relied on the following approaches: Media survey method and the comparative method, and the data collection tools in the study are the framing analysis and the discourse analysis tool also the questionnaire. The most important results of the study is that the judges came as the most important actors with a percentage 13.3% then the former President Mohamed Morsi with a percentage 10.3%, followed by former President Mubarak with a percentage 10.2%. The conflict frame came in the first place, followed by the legal framework with a percentage 23.3%.
