Media Image of Egypt as Reflected in the Foreign News Websites

Abstract

This research seeks to identify the media image of Egypt on the foreign news websites, and analysis the characteristics and trends of press coverage on it, using the survey method, with a content analysis for (7) foreigner news websites are: AlNilin: Sudan, Haaretz: Israel, Syria-Today: Syria, Itar-Tass: Russia, People: China, New York Times: US, The Guardian: UK, The researcher (*) observed during periods of analysis (1706) news. The Most Important results were:
-     News template came on the top of the other templates by 55%.
-     Political issues was the biggest issue in the coverage by 56.6%.
-     Pictures came in the forefront of subsidized materials for press material by 43.6%.
-     The Experts were the most used source in the press coverage by 40.3%.
-     The most positive features on Tantawi period was: Activity and efficiency of Ministers and officials, the power of Egypt's role in peacekeeping in the region and inviting to it.
-     The most positive features on Morsi period: Activity and efficiency President or the ruler, the power of Egypt's role in peacekeeping in the region and inviting to it.
-     The most negative features on Tantawi period: The incompetence of the president or the ruler, the weakness police security services.
-     The most negative features on Morsi period: The increase of accidents and rising crime and violence rates, Inefficient President and poor decisions.
