Abstract

The recent study deals with a number of factors that put its impact on the scientific and intellectual life of Baghdad during the Last Abbasid era. These factors are of various types; geographical, political, military, economic, social and religious. All of them have, separately or collectively and positively or negatively, influenced the scientific and intellectual production, and the social and economic conditions of Baghdad's scholars, whether who came to it from other places of Iraq or from other parts of Muslim world. Each of these scholars came to produce his contribution in a renaissance by which the last Abbasid Caliphs tried to renew their central authority and prevent their government from collapse, and finally, to save their state from attempts of their various enemies to put an end for it.
