The reality of Myth and Legend: A comparative historical study on the two works “ The Wonders of India” by Buzurg Ibn Shahriyar and “The Travels of Ibn Battuta” by Ibn Battuta

Abstract

This study aims to try to understand the change in the pattern of human thinking, through the historical books in the Islamic era, where the study work of a comparison between the book ((wonders of India, its land, sea,and islands)) for Buzyrg ibn Shahriyar, who died in the middle of the fourth century AH / tenth century and a book ((The Travels of Ibn Battuta)) of Ibn Battuta, who died in the eighth century AH / fourteenth century. The study highlighted the acceptance of the myths and legends that were in that period, and it turns out that human thought during the period continued to accept some myths and legends, some of which declined in the time of Ibn Battuta, and sometimes we find human thinking began to accept some of the myths and legends that did not exist at the time of Bozork bin Shahriar, and other times began to develop some of the myths and legends through increase them.
