Literacy: A passage to individual and societal development. A research conducted on a illiterate group

Abstract

The research aims to (through a comparison between two samples) to show the difference between the two samples 1, sample 2 and analyzing the factors that help sample 1 to eradicating illiteracy and the other factors that hampered sample 2 from eradicating illiteracy. The aim is to reveal the relationship between education and development.
The research was conducted in three governorates (Cairo, Giza, El- Beheira). It depends on the Social survey by sample for a number of 90 Participants. The Participants were divided into two samples chosen by intention and they were subject to the comparative approach with reference to the tool of (interview).
The individual and group interviews with the help of reporters from the research Society, with reference to the qualitative and qualitative analysis.
The field analysis show the drop outs of the two samples as a result of some previous family conditions.
After their return to education through joining the illiteracy programs: the first sample succeeded in eradicating illiteracy as a result of the following factors arranged ascending:
The strategy of the teacher of illiteracy in education, the distance of the illiteracy class to the house, presenting the certificate of illiteracy to employment, learning a skill or trade after illiteracy, the belief in education and the desire for a higher education.
Sample 2 failed in eradicating illiteracy as a result of: the unsuitability of studying timetable, the dissatisfaction of families from continuing their education, the difficulties of the education programs, boredom with continuing education in illiteracy classes and lack of attractiveness of education.
The research ensures the pivotal role of education in improving and developing the living conditions of individuals, thus achieving, generally, social development.
