Kuwaiti Journalism and its Role in Investigating Living Conditions between 1946-1959 AD

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the role of Kuwaiti journalism investigating living conditions  and problems of Kuwaiti society between 1946-1959 AD in which the journalism backed to issue through ( Mission Magazine) in 1946 till 1959 when the privileges of those newspapers and magazines have been cancelled from the Kuwaiti associations.
It was backed in this important period of Kuwaiti history in which Kuwait has exported the first oil shipment. Therefore, it achieved good returns that were reflected in the living conditions. So, the Kuwaitis were eager to establish educational, health and education projects as well as improving their living status.
The study has concluded that the Kuwaiti journalism was free and it was concerned with the citizens’ concerns when there was no legislative council in Kuwait to ensure its freedom. They included (Irshad magazine), Eman Magazine, Fajar Magazine and Shaab magazine. In addition,  some magazines have succeeded to show the foreign authorities (Britain) practices in worsening the living conditions. It also revealed some of administrative corruption that led to deprive the people of the country and Arabs from employment.
