The Concept of School Belonging amongst Government School Students in Kuwait

Abstract

The present study aims to identify the concept of school belonging among students of government schools in Kuwait, and the relationship of the school belonging to some variables.The study was guided by theories of motivation and knowledge. The study is one of the descriptive and analytical studies , and used the social survey method . The study sample size was (1420) students, have been selected randomly from the  public schools in Kuwait . The data were collected by a questionnaire and validity and reliability tests were conducted to it . Among the most important findings of the study:
1-There are statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05)  between the development of the concept of school belonging and the gender (male – female ) .
2- There are statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) between the level of development of the concept of school belonging and the classroom level, which belongs to the student (sixth - eighth - tenth).
3- There are no statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) between the level of development of the concept of school belonging and the difference in the province populated by students .
In the end, the study recommends a more scientific studies to clarify the relationship of the school belonging to some other variables such as : educational achievement of students, creativity and scientific excellence, and the degree of participation in school activities, the level of household income, and educational level of the parents ...
