Abstract

The research paper examines thirteen issues in syntax and morphology that are related to syntax and morphology scholars. Eight of these issues are grammatical, and five are morphological or found in books of morphology. I have divided the study into two sections. The first section is to examine issues of syntax which are the opinion of al-Farra‘ about lahinnak, and Abi ’Ubaydah’s opinion about excess of kan, al-Mubarrid’s opinion about the allowance of excess of waw al-‘atf, Ibn al-Sarraj’s opinion about the excess kan, al-Zajjaji’s opinion of the category of kan in “ma kan af’alah”, al-Sirafi’s and al-Jurjani’s opinon about why excepted object is mansub, the Kufuiyun’s narration of half a line in rajz, and which category light an is unded when it comes before present verbs. The second section is to examine issues of morphology which are al-Mubarrid’s exception for the letter ha‘ from excess letters, the Kufuiyun’s opinion about omissions in such as tathakkarun, their opinion of the reason why the letter waw is omitted in such as ya’idu, al-Zajjaj’s opinion about the change of hamzah in masa‘ib, and al-Mazini’s opinion about the change of waw with kasrah at the beginning of a word.
