Abstract

The importance of this study Stems from a core in the Arabic agendas, as the bilingual is central in many international studies, and the dialogue is still consuming much of the research time and energy. What gives value to this study is the uncovering of problems and disadvantages to the bilingual effect on the use of the Arabic language as the mother tongue.
This study aims at revealing the actual limits and boundaries for the bilingual hypothesis with the intention of discussing its disadvantages, objectives, and effects. The study also looks into its effect on the spread of Arabic language teaching and learning, with review of international experiences in resolving such problem.
The study concluded and reached that the bilingual phenomenon is:

Draining our Arabic language at all levels.
Causing delays in mastering the language sufficiently.
Crippling its spread and use in many avenues.
Affecting learning and teaching of the language.
Imposing a mixed linguistic environment.

Thus, attention should be given to scientific studies with experimental and practical nature, with questions and dialogue. In addition, we must benefit from the advanced counties and their experience in bilingual learning and teaching, and discuss such projects at the Arab Universities level, especially the well-researched ones that had large budgets and come out with significant recommendations in relation to the use of Bilingual education.
