Abstract

          The paper explores the the web of links between Egypt and Constantinople, the Capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, through the Greek papyrolgical documentary evidence from Egypt from the fourth to the seventh centuries AD. This web of links, due to the limitation of our sources, proved to be a small-scale, but, nevertheless, it covered many aspects of relations, especially the economic, cultural, educational, legitational and religious.
