The Usages of Profit and Non-profit Organizations of Facebook Pages in Communicating with the Public: A Comparative Study between Samsung Egypt Corporation and Children’s Cancer Hospital Foundation

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the similarities and differences between profit and non-profit organizations’ uses of facebook pages. The study employs a qualitative content analysis to analyze the content of the official facebook page of Samsung Egypt and Children’s Cancer Hospital Foundation. In addition, the case study and comparative technique are used to identify the different uses of the two organizations. The results show that there is difference between the two organizations in using facebook pages. A qualitative content analysis of the two pages   revealed that the two organizations don’t use faceboook effectively, they didn’t benefit from its advantages in instantaneous communication with their target audiences.
