The Phenomenon of Corruption and Its Impact On The Social Development Process : A Socio-Analytical Reading

Abstract

The corruption in Egyptian society is Considered one of the most important social, economic and political phenomena , where reports indicate several local and international to the spread of corruption in several governmental organizations in Egypt, as it appears the order of Egypt late on the corruption index released by Transparency International. It is also corruption - especially political and economic - of the most important factors responsible for the revolutions of January 25, 2011 and June 30, 2013 that overthrew Mubarak's rule and Regular Mohamed Morsi. Hence the importance of the discussion and analysis of the social implications of the phenomenon of corruption on the development process in the Egyptian society.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, study depended on the entrance of "method" re-analysis and synthesis of the study and analysis of the phenomenon of corruption and its implications for social development process in the Egyptian society through the use of the results of some previous research studies, and some reports of international and local development.
Among the most important findings of the study that the poor and low-income people have borne the main burden of the cost resulting from the spread of corruption and bias policies of economic reform and privatization in Egypt to the owners of the money - business - with lower real incomes for the poor and low-income people, and narrowed life chances in front of them and the deterioration of their standard of living to the rock bottom.
It also resulted in the spread of corruption in Egyptian society to the disruption of the system of values prevailing in society and the prevalence of lack of discipline at all levels, and lawlessness and carelessness and increasing patterns of crimes, not the Egyptian society known before, and the spread of the phenomena of violence and the culture of the hustle and the disintegration of the family, and elevating the material values and the disappearance of values cooperation, tolerance and social synergy.
