Environmental Mastery and its relation to the Parental Bonding and Personal growth Initiative of University Students

Abstract

The current research aims at knowing the nature of the relationship between the research variables: environmental mastery and its relationship to the parental bonding and the personal growth initiative of university students, and the extent of the contribution of the two variables (parental Bonding) and (personal growth initiative) in the total variation of the environmental Mastery. The sample consists of (400) Male and female students from the universities of Baghdad and Mustansiriyah.
The measures of (Environmental Mastery, Parental Bonding, and Personal growth Initiative), have been administered and the use of Pearson correlation coefficient, and test samples t (t-test) and analysis of multiple regression, the results show the following:
There is a significant positive correlation between (environmental Mastery) and (parental Bonding) and (personal growth initiative). The variable (personal growth initiative) contributes (11.2%) of the total variance in the variable (environmental Mastery), the variable (parental Bonding) has no contribution.
