Abstract

This research deals with the concept of the intellectual in the process of approaching the understanding of the surrounding problems of methodology and semantics. Through 4 addresses start with the question of who is the intellectual?
Such a question raises a long debate that may not end easily because of a number of cognitive and ideological differences. By tracing the historical context of the term to an agreed definition. The second headings relate to the models of the intellectual starting with Gramsci's talk and the additions of contemporary critics, especially through the contemporary Arabic novel.
