Sexual Harassment in the Jordanian Universities( Mutah, Yarmouk, and Jordan University)

Abstract

 The current study aimed at identifying the committed sexual harassment by students in the Jordanian universities, Mutah Yarmouk   
and Jordan university. The study population consisted of all the students in the three Jordanians universities who are registered in the Bachelor degree level. The sample of the study consisted of (1500) students.                                                                                                      
             To achieve the objectives, the study relied on the social survey method and the use of questionnaire as a tool of demographics, and sexual  
 Harassment data collection.                                                              
The result showed that there are six forms of sexual harassment committed in campus: physical harassment, verbal harassment, gestures and movement’s harassment, visual harassment, sexual harassment via mobile, and sexual harassment by using emails.
 The study also showed a significant relationship between the causes of sexual harassment on campus and the following variables: gender, college, study level, and the study showed the most driving reasons for sexual harassment are searching for enjoyment, adventure, and emotional reasons
