Abstract

This study deals with the subject of diplomatic relations between the Byzantine Empire and the Ayyubid state of Saladin (584-586 AH / 1188-1190 CE). This relationship took on a diplomatic character, which led to the political rapprochement between the two sides because of the unity of the interests that brought them together. One of the most important reasons that led the researcher to choose this topic was to clarify the internal and external political situation in the era of each Byzantine emperor and its impact in his quest to enforce the various embassies to Saladin. In addition, the study of the political conditions that led Saladin to rapprochement with the Byzantines of Byzantium.
         As for the curriculum, it is as descriptive and analytical as possible to arrive at the relatively historical truth.
 The first section deals with the historical background of the Ayyubid state in Egypt by Salah al-Din and its response to internal and external dangers in one case. Perhaps the Crusader threat comes at the forefront of the external dangers that contributed The wheel of political rapprochement between the Ayyubid era.
The second axis is a historical presentation of the relations between the emperors of Byzantium and Saladin, which resulted in the conclusion of several treaties of cooperation with the discussion of the terms of each treaty with the opinion of the researcher. And what benefited from each other.
Finally, the researcher presented a conclusion to her research in which she mentioned the most important points that were raised and discussed, and the most important comparative results reached.
