Visible and Portrayed Body in Poetry

Abstract

The study investigates the poet’s vision of the visible and portrayed body in poetry through discussing the relationship between body, language, and poetry. That is because language defines the body and through it arrives to meanings and poetry is the language that resembles the highest physical component of meanings in a language. Prior to this the study  conducts the story of creation to make clear the relationship between the soul and body and the way poets investigated it after this some old and modern views of poets are studied and the article concludes with the poetry of three modern poets in connecting the body. Both visibly and portrayingly; the poets are Adonis, Mahmoud Darwish and Zuhayr Abu Shayeb.
