Jordanian Parents' Attitudes towards the Concept of Neighbourhood Socialization: A Field Study of the Potash Complex Residents

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate the density of neighbor, interaction and socialization in the Potash Residence Complex. In order to implement the study a questionnaire for data collection was designed and distributed among the sample of the study, which consisted of 230 families. The finding of the study can be summarizing on follows:
1-    The responses of the parents towards families' neighborhood came generally positive.
2-     There is a statistically significant relationship between the age variable and the level of social relationships among neighbors.
3-     There is a statistically significance effect between the variable of the nature of the profession and the level of social interaction among neighbors.
4-    There is a statistically significant relationship between the variable of the previous place of residence and the level of social interaction among neighbors.
5-    There is no statistically significant relationship between the variable of the level of education and the level of social interaction among neighbors.
The study recommends that Engineers and city planners of new residence complex take advantage of the science of urban planning. There people are urged to widen the range of support services offered by such institution as Mosques, clubs, and civil centers as they cater for positive conditions contributing to depending neighbor- to – neighbor socialization among complex residents.
