Abstract

Terms are often primary keys to understanding a linguistic work. This understanding is strengthened and made clearer if titles are idioms that recur in the same work, or if they are standards controlling that work.Consensus(al_Jamherah) is both a term and an idiom, which are two  undivided sides of the one work. This paper aims to define this idiom and intentionally direct it by developing, freeing, and enriching it on scientific (academic) bases_a process which is to give the idiom more importance and to remove from it the restrains that no Arabic dictionary (thesaurus) is pure of.
The later (contemporary) linguists are responsible for these restraints which they created in their attempt to identify the historical and geographical features of this term.Their endeavor has been the “ greatest crime against Arabic “ (Sameer Staitiyah,2005 , Linguistics 310) . These restraints with which linguistic scholarship has been tied should stay away from the dictionary  (thesaurus) because it is “ the complete representation of the language vocabulary – origin, development, alterations (modifications/transformations) and effects” ( Sameer Staitiyah ,2005, Linguistics 310).
