The Pronoun of Separation at Sibawaih and Al-Farra

Abstract

This research deals with the Pronoun of Separation at Sibawaih and Al-Farra, in light of the divergent views of the grammarians on the naming of the Pronoun of Separation , the research deals with a brief biography of Sibawaih, Imam of the Basra grammarians, and Al-Farra, the imam of the Kufa grammarians, may God have mercy on them. Then this research presents their views on naming the Pronoun of Separation, Its Meanings, terms and conditions, its parsing, and the places where it is a nominal, and the possible aspects, while taking into account the opinions of some of the grammarians who dealt with this subject. The research concluded that the Pronoun of Separation or the General differs  in AlFarra from Sibawaih, For the Basarians, it is the Pronoun of Separation,  because it separates the nominal from the predicate, the predicate and the adjective or the predicate and the follower, because the separation which indicates the second to be a predicate not a follower. For Al-Farra or the group of Kufayyans, the pillar or the supporter, because it depends on it the interest. It supports the speech which strengthens and confirms it.
