Abstract

We can say that Egypt has suffered of major economic crises at the recent period, which prompts the current regime to launch several national projects in an attempt to improve the economic and social situation and create a good investment climate.
This study aims to identify the news framing used to cover recent national projects in Egyptian electronic Newspaper with different ownership, by using a case study of developing new Suez Canal project, which was launched by Egyptian president Abdelfatah Elsisi since august 2014. The study depends on the survey methodology on a random sample of 796 journalistic articles published in the Egyptian electronic newspapers. The theory of News Framing is utilized, using a form of content analysis and framing analysis.
Results showed that the frames come in the same order in the three-electronic newspaper, the "Economic Results" frame ranked first, followed by the "organization" and the "participation" frames, a positive attitude toward the project at the three-electronic newspaper was prevailed, and thus It can be said that the pattern of ownership do not affect the nature of the frames presented in the coverage of developing new Suez Canal project.
