Abstract

This study aims at exploring the multifold types of visualization or imagination in Andalusian poetry, and how Andalusian poets highly acknowledged visualization as a method of expressing feelings and emotions towards the absent beloved, as well as places and periods of their past.
The study consists of an Introduction and two frames:
The Theoretical Frame: It explores the concept of visualization literally and conceptually, in addition, it investigates various vantage points of old and modern critics regarding the significant role of visualization in the poets psyche and poetry as well.
Application: It provides a case study of visualization in Andalusian poetry, and shows its influence on poets' style in expressing their themes, ideas and personal visions.

The study illustrates that visualization is a recurrent theme in Andalusian poetry, which poets use to express their psychological as well as sentimental state for the absence of their beloveds, places or periods. It is evident that Andalusian poetry is replete with examples highlighting the use of several types of visualization , such as visualization of man, place and time .
