Abstract

The European taste during the Renaissance was to wear narrow, high-heeled shoes that needed a tool that made it easy to wear, and was accepted by rulers, courtiers and the general public. There were craftsmen specialized in this manufacture and its decoration, and many of them were preserved in museums and special collections. Its history dates back to the 16-20th century AD. This tool moved to the Islamic world later on its appearance in Europe and was known as the shoe-horn. And one of them is preserved in a museum in Tehran, which is distinguished by its decoration and graphic themes. The aim of this study is to address it with explanation and analysis through two axes; one descriptive, the other analytical.
