Abstract

         The theme of belonging and citizenship as newly term did not receive the attention of intellectuals, Social thinkers and philosophers, a source of priority and importance compared to what happened in the modern state, which defined the geography of the place and the policy of geographical association certain land, cultural identity, which is based on the basis of affiliation to the cultural beliefs and values of certain standards, especially among young people in the age group of 18-24years. Therefore, the present study aimed to test the validity of some of the theoretical issues, which were contained in the theory of socialization and social control, in the framework of the main hypothesis which indicates that "The Social Determinants represent a means of social and cultural restrictions imposed on its way relatively organized and coordinated the individual behavior in order to keep pace with the desired patterns of behavior, traditions with fully internalize the social norms and values, leading in turn to achieve citizenship and belonging.
        The study also aims to identify the social determinants that make the behavior of citizenship and belonging to the Egyptian youth with effective and positive right toward building society economically, socially and politically.Because this study of descriptive studies based on the monitoring and analysis of the characteristics of the phenomenon, to measure the impact of the social determinants of belonging and citizenship of the Egyptian youth, .This study has adopted the "social survey approach"; in order to obtain sufficient data and information, to analyze the current situation of belonging and citizenship and its interpretation, and the extent of its impact on the functioning of the Egyptian society and its progress.The crisis has also been collecting data for the study through a newspaper questionnaire, the analysis of the documents and records; where it was applied to the stratified random sample included (322) students and student dispersed on (169) and (153) student of different ages of the various colleges of the university.
The results of the study supported the following hypotheses:
1- There are statistically significant differences in the concept of citizenship and belonging among Egyptian youth according to the variables (gender, place of birth, place of residence, monthly income, cultural level).
2. The family is the most important social institution with regard to the development of youth awareness of citizenship and belonging to society.
3 - There are statistically significant differences between the social determinants of (culture - education - pluralism and acceptance of the other - the social level - the degree of awareness) and the behavior of citizenship and belonging.
4 - There is a relationship between the role of the state in solving social problems and the degree of citizenship and belonging to the Egyptian youth.
