The role of the Creative economy in achieving sustainable development The experience of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia

This research aimed to study the role of the Creative economy in achieving the sustainable development goals, with reference to the experience of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research addressed the concept of the Creative economy, its components, and its importance in economic and social development. The concept of sustainable development and its three dimensions (economic, social, environmental) were also presented, highlighting the relationship between the Creative economy and the sustainable development goals.
The experience of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in promoting the Creative economy was presented, by monitoring the initiatives and programs launched by the Kingdom within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030, such as supporting creative industries, arts, culture, heritage, and digital media. The research also addressed the impact of the Creative economy on the local economy, its role in diversifying sources of income, creating job opportunities, in addition to the challenges and opportunities for developing this sector in the Kingdom.
The research was of the descriptive qualitative type of studies with a theoretical library character, by making use of the available scientific writings from some books, scientific theses, research previous studies related to the research topic.
The research concluded that the Creative economy represents a fundamental pillar for achieving the sustainable development goals, as it contributes to achieving a balance between economic growth, social prosperity, and environmental conservation. The study recommended the need to strengthen policies that support this sector, provide financing for entrepreneurs in creative fields, and develop the digital infrastructure to support cultural and creative industries in the Kingdom.
