The current research aimed to know the level of mental alertness and psychological stress among a sample of mothers of people with disabilities in the city of Ma’an, and whether there is a correlation between mental alertness and psychological stress, and whether there are statistically significant differences due to the variables of the mother’s age and educational level. To achieve the objectives of the research, the mental alertness scale of Baer et al. (FFMQ) (2006) and the psychological stress scale of Jaradat (2021) were used, after confirming their validity and reliability. The research sample consisted of (182) mothers of people with disabilities in the city of Ma’an who were registered in special education centers. They were selected using the accessible sampling method. The results indicated that there was an average level of mental alertness, while psychological pressure was at a low level, and the existence of a statistically significant direct relationship between psychological pressure and mental alertness among mothers of people with disabilities in the city of Ma’an.The results also indicated that there were differences in the degree of mental alertness among mothers of people with disabilities in the city of Ma'an due to the educational level in favor of basic compared to bachelor's degree, while there were no statistically significant differences due to the age variable. The researchers recommended the importance of providing guidance programs to mothers of people with disabilities to teach them strategies for coping with stress and how to deal with a son with a disability
