The Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations were not ordinary; they were distinguished by a special dimension, being serious and strong during certain periods due to stances, events, and issues concerning both countries, where one party supported and backed the other. The Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations remained strong throughout the years of Sadat's rule. His years in power were marked by crises, wars, and significant events in the Arab region, with Egypt taking the forefront and Kuwait standing as its supporter and backer, especially during the October War of 1973. However, after Egypt signed the peace agreement with Israel (the Camp David Accords), the Arab world split into two camps: the doves and the hardline hawks. Kuwait remained distant from both but aligned with Arab states in their decisions. The relations between the two countries entered a new phase they had not experienced before—a phase of "cooling and stagnation."
