Abstract

This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between institutionalism degree in political parties and solving the crises of political development in Jordan from the perspective of the faculty members in the departments of political sciences in the Jordanian universities. The study used a scientific approach that combines both quantitative and theoretical methods in order to collect data by employing the comprehensive survey approach. The study sample consisted of (53) faculty members, representing (85.48%) of the total study population. To collect the field data, a questionnaire was developed based on the relevant previous studies. The collected data were analyzed statistically by using (SPSS V.24). The results showed that there is a positive relationship between the total degree of political parties' institutionalism and the total level for the parties' ability to solve the crises of political development in Jordan. The results revealed that the Jordanian political parties enjoy a medium level of institutionalism, and thus these parties have a medium level concerning their ability to solve the crises of political development in Jordan.
In the light of the results, the study recommended the necessity of urging the secretariat of the Jordanian parties to raise the level of institutionalism among parties by reaching citizens in all the parts of Jordan, representing their demands, and adapting with the developments in the Jordanian State. Also, political parties should involve with the Jordanian government in solving the crises of political development by setting alternative solutions and plans for the challenges that face Jordan.
