Abstract

This research examines the biblical verbs "רצה" and "חפץ" through a syntactic and semantic analysis. The aim is to understand, Their distribution in the Bible, the impact of their appearance in the Hebrew sentence structure, and the subtle differences in their meaning within the biblical text. The research uses a descriptive approach in both the syntactic and semantic analysis of the two verbs. Despite the apparent similarity in the syntactic and semantic structure of the two verbs, there are clear differences between them on both levels "רצה" emphasizes an active desire to achieve a goal, while "חפץ" emphasizes an internal desire, inclination, or feeling. These differences are manifested in the different ways in which the verbs are used in the biblical text. The distinction between "רצה" and "חפץ" is important for an accurate understanding of the biblical text. A deep syntactic and semantic analysis of the two verbs contributes to a deeper understanding of the author's intention and the meaning of the text.
