The effectiveness of a guidance program based on the humanistic theory in developing ego resilience among mothers of children with cerebral palsy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a guidance program based on the humanistic theory in developing ego resilience among mothers of children with cerebral palsy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. They were selected from those accompanying their children with cerebral palsy at Queen Rania Hospital in Al Hussein Medical City. To achieve the objectives of the current study, the researcher developed an ego resilience scale and verified its psychometric properties. A guidance program based on the humanistic theory was also prepared. The descriptive quasi-experimental approach was used, where a sample of mothers aged between (20-40) years was selected, amounting to (137) mothers, and a sample for the experimental study was chosen intentionally, amounting to (22) mothers, who were divided into two experimental groups and the program was applied to them, and a control group that was not subjected to any guidance intervention. The results of the study indicated an average level of ego resilience among mothers of children Patients with cerebral palsy, and it was found that mothers who underwent the guidance program achieved a better level of ego flexibility compared to the control group, and it was found that the members of the experimental group maintained the long-term effect on ego flexibility, and based on the results of the study, it was recommended to apply the current
