The effect of counseling program based on the Lazarus model in developing psychological flow among a sample of female students of the upper basic stage in Maan schools ​​ ​

Abstract

The study aimed to investing the effectiveness of an integrative counseling program based on multi-method therapy (the Lazarus model) in developing psychological flow, among a sample of female students in basic stage in Ma’an schools, the quasi-experimental approach was used on sample consisting of (30) female students who scored the lowest scorers on the scale of Psychological Flow. They were divided equally into two groups, one experimental and the other control. Tow psychological flow scales were used in the study to collect data. For the purposes of the study, a counseling program was designed, which was applied to the experimental group in (14) session, tow session per week, with (50) minutes time for each session . The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement of psychological flow in favor of experimental group. The results also showed that there were no the statistically significant differences between the post- and follow-up measurements on the experimental group, which indicates the effectiveness of the applied counseling program in developing psychological flow and the continuity of its effectiveness after A tracking period of(4) weeks.
The Study recommended the need to include different teaching strategies for psychological flow experiences, also the Study endorsed forming guidance groups of educational counselor and teachers to provide assistance to students and develop their positive aspects through holding Weekly workshops in various schools.
