Abstract

Research into the issue of the relationship between the R2P approach and the sovereignty of the national state is one of the important topics in today’s world, as national sovereignty is declining, and the international community is moving towards more interventions in internal affairs.
The research focuses on a central question: What is the sovereignty of the national state, in light of the international community’s tendency to adopt: the responsibility to protect approach?
The research aims to address the extent to which the sovereignty of the national state is affected by global trends and transformations, which permit intervention under specific justifications and circumstances.
The research worked on indicating: the development in the approach to intervention globally, the transformations in the global environment, and how the sovereignty of the national state is affected by the existing transformations in the global environment, and then how: the approach of the responsibility to protect affects: the sovereignty of the national state.
