Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a counseling program based on social learning in developing the ego identity among orphans. To achieve the goal of the study, the sample was chosen purposively and consisted of (24) orphan female students. They were randomly distributed into two experimental and control groups. An ego identity scale was developed. And to ensure its psychometric properties, a counseling program was built based on social learning, where the results indicated the presence of an average level in ego identity among orphans. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average performance of members of the experimental and control groups in ego identity in favor of the experimental group on The post-measurement, and the results also showed the continued effectiveness of the counseling program in developing ego identity between the post-measurement and the follow-up measurements
