Abstract

This study aims to examine the topic of "The Financial Resources of the Hijaz and Their Impact on Its Conditions During the Reign of King Abdul-Aziz (1343 – 1373 AH. / 1924 – 1953 AD.)." The subject falls within the field of research in modern and contemporary history, with a particular focus on the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and specifically the history of the Hijaz.
The study discusses two main axes: the first axis is the financial resources In the Hijaz, and the second axis is the impact of the financial resources on the conditions of the Hijaz. The study relies on both the historical method and the quantitative method that facilitates the progress of research and suits the presentation and analysis of information; to monitor changes in the evolution of financial resources in the Hijaz during the reign of King Abdul-Aziz. Among the most significant findings of the research: the financial resources flourished after the annexation of the Hijaz to the rule of King Abdul-Aziz, who aimed to improve them and discover more of its land's bounties to benefit from and harness the local capabilities of the country to cover its needs, according to executive procedures in the process of developing the financial resource administrations that achieved success from their simple tasks and income to other resources of new value, portraying a model of persistence and challenge presented by the founding King for the betterment of the Hijaz.
