Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of the family in confronting the excessive use of technology and social media programs from the view point of social workers and psychologists working for the Juvenile Welfare Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Kuwait, in the light of some variables (sex , and practical experience)
The study was a descriptive analytical study. It used the social survey method. A questionnaire consisting of (39) items was built and designed, and its validity and reliability were tested. Among the most important results of the study: The level of the family's role in confronting the excessive use of technology and social media programs was medium. The results also showed that there were no differences in the arithmetic means of the study population's estimate regarding the variables of sex and practical experience of social workers and psychologists.
The study recommended the necessity of developing policies and strategies to improve the levels of benefiting from the advantages of technology and social media programs , avoiding children the negatives through monitoring the parents, supervision and guidance; It also recommended conducting more studies related to the current subject of the study from the family's point of view and from the children's point of view...
