Abstract

The aim of study:
The current study aims to try to shed light on the personality disorders that university students areexposed to, especially the late adolescence stage, which starts from 18 to 25 years; At this stage, the individual’s need to form his identity appears, as the adolescent seeks to define the meaning of his existence, his goals in life, and his plans to achieve these goals (who I am, what I want, and how I can achieve what I want) and his concept of himself is formed, and then self-realization is affected in these The stage is characterized by a set of factors, the most important of which is self-esteem and obtaining unconditional positive acceptance.
Then the problem of the study crystallizes in:
- Examine the relationship between self-concept and personality disorders category A, category B, and category C, in university students
methodological procedures:
The study sample was selected from the students of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, and the study sample consisted of 44 male and female students, and the age group ranged from 17 to 24 years.
The study tools included:
1- The Diagnostic Manual of Psychiatric Diseases for Adults derived from the Fourth and Fifth Statistical Diagnostic Manual: Prepared by: Ed. Ahmed Shalaby, Ed. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Desouki, and Dr. Zizi Al-Sayed Ibrahim.     
  2- The Self-Concept Scale, prepared by Dr. Ashraf Mostafa Helmy, Anglo-Egyptian Library.
The results:
There is a statistically significant correlation between self-concept and personality disorders.
