Abstract

Understanding the social, political, economic and cultural crises that society is going through is the key to understanding the transformations affecting the characteristics of the Egyptian personality. Hence, the current study seeks to reveal the features of stability and change in the Egyptian personality, represented by the epidemics that Egyptian society has experienced throughout history.  With the spotlight on the Corona pandemic (Covid 19);  Imposed on us by the reality of the global risk community;  As it left its mark on all countries of the world;  Until it became impossible for us to predict (the post-Corona world);  We do not yet know how long his threat will remain.  How to counter its impact on societies in general;  And according to what will be attached to the Egyptian character in particular;  Which is affected by the crises of society in a clear and rapid manner throughout history;  And oscillate between constant and variable.
The study followed the descriptive and analytical approach by describing an actual situation in Egyptian society, analyzing pages from social networking sites and examining the images in which various features of the Egyptian personality appeared, and the study used the content analysis tool as it reduces the ambiguity of the material and the researcher's bias to a large extent,  And it seeks to draw conclusions.
And the study came out with a set of results, the most important of which is that the Egyptians' use of irony and humor in periods of crisis is not a new phenomenon in Egyptian society, as it began to appear since the era of the Pharaohs.  It has become evident to us that the spirit of humor and cynicism in the entities of the Egyptians, which manifests itself in distress, relieves them of crises, tribulations, disease and sometimes death, through two important elements of that sweet Egyptian spirit, which are based on renewal of knowledge and the realization of reason.
