A Ceramic tomb panel of Imam Ali Ibn G’far mausoleum preserved in the museum of Astaneh Moqaddaseh in Qum An Archaeological, Artistic Study

Abstract

This research aims at studying a Ceramic tomb panel that belongs to the mausoleum of Imam Ali Ibn G’far which refers to the 8th A.H/14th A.D century. This panel which consists of six tiles is preserved now at the museum of Astaneh Moqaddaseh in Qum. The research investigates lots of arguments about the owner and the panel through studying its different ornaments either architectural, floral or epigraphical. These investigations provide significant information about the owner and his biography as well as the panel and its function. It is worth mentioning that the inscriptions play great role in revealing the dating of this panel through the comparison of its inscriptions with that of other dated tiles from the same mausoleum in a descriptive and analytical approach.
