Abstract

In this study labeled "Etymological comparisons in Hebrew, Arabic and Aramaic in the works of Rabbi Saadia Gaon", we dealt with the issue of the etymology of words in a comparison between the Hebrew, Arabic and Aramaic languages in the linguistic work of Saadia Gaon, by comparing the explicit words contained in the three languages, as well as comparing Among the suggestive words in the three languages, in addition to the translation of the Hebrew words into their synonyms in the Arabic translation. The study also dealt with the Hebrew-Arabic verb conjugation table in Saadia Gaon's work and made a comparison on several levels between the two translations, either at the syntactic level, at the lexical level, or at the semantic and stylistic level. The study also dealt with the etymology of words in both Hebrew and Aramaic for the purpose of comparing the two languages. In order to achieve comprehensive efficiency from this research, the research relies on the comparative method in addition to the theory of the etymology.
