Abstract

The topic of the impact of education on Saudi women’s thinking patterns and attitudes towards working or joining the workforce is an important area of research in the context of Saudi Arabia. The study aims to monitor and analyze the impact of education on Saudi women’s thinking patterns and attitudes toward work, understand the factors that affect thinking patterns and attitudes toward work among Saudi women, and identify how education helps in changing these patterns and attitudes. The study relied on a sample of 50 working and educated women in the city of Jeddah, relying on in-depth interview evidence, and used the feminist point of view approach, and concluded with the following results:
1- Education plays an important role in influencing Saudi women's thinking patterns and attitudes towards work or joining the workforce. Thus, it will be important to encourage and support education and skills development for women in the Kingdom.
2- Societal attitudes towards women's participation in the labor force and traditional gender roles discourage women from seeking education and employment. It is important for policies and programs to address these traditional gender roles and attitudes by raising awareness and promoting gender equality.
3- The lack of affordable childcare is a major obstacle for women in Saudi Arabia to enter the labor market. Government policies and programs can provide access to affordable childcare options, which will make it easier for women to enter the labor market.
4- Women in the Kingdom still face some discrimination in the workplace, and receive less wages than men for the same work. It is important for policies and programs to address discrimination in the workplace and to promote equal pay for equal work.
5- Government policies and programs can encourage the private sector to employ more women by implementing a quota system and providing incentives to companies that employ women.
