The Sacred in the Novel Temptation Hymns by Laila Al-Atrash

This study seeks to stabilise the portrayal of the holy in The Temptation Hymns by establishing a definition of the sacred in the prelude and the three sections of the narrative; the prelude investigates the novel's paradoxical structure to explain the motivation behind the selection. The first section examines the sacred sites of the three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem, while the second examines the political and theological dimensions of power, and the third examines the common perception of Jerusalem.
Research can benefit from earlier studies, such as the book by Youssef Shellhad, "The Sanctuary Before and After Islam," the study of "The Holy and the defiled" by Mercia Iliad, as well as "The Human and the Holy" by Roger Kaiwa, "The Islamic Holy" by Noureddine Zahi, and other studies that are reviewed in the search's main body. The conclusion contains the study's most significant findings. The study used an inductive textual technique in order to tackle this problem.
