Khediwee Abbas Helmi II and his political Role In Egypt 1892-1914

Abstract

In the history of modern Egypt, a group of important historical figures have been involved in political events during the important stage of Egypt's political history, among these figures is Khediwee Abbas Helmi II, who took the authority of the Egyptian government in 1892 after the death of his father Khediwee Tawfeeq , who his power assumption is coincided with British hegemony on Egypt and its direct in the Egyptian politics, that has been clearly noticed since the British protectorate of Egypt 1882.    
In light of this, the research included the Khediwee Abbas Helmy II attitudes' towards the British policy and the impact of the Egyptian national movement at that critical stage for Egypt's political history. In addition to the First World War circumstances that broke out 1914 and its impact on Egypt's policy, Britain did not appreciate the existence of Khediwee on the throne of Egypt; therefore, it is decided to dispose him from the authority of Egypt.

At the same time, his relations with the Egyptian national movement and the Egyptian revolutionaries were not good because of his policy; this was characterized by colonial subordination and the domination by the major powers of Egypt's political, economic and diplomatic destiny.
