Abstract

The study seeks to recognize social, economic and political dimensions of Alturas phenomenon as a social movement in the Egyptian community through monitoring its emergence, the historical development, financial resources, the political role, and the position of the Egyptian community.
It is a descriptive –analytical study relying on a complex methodology as the study adopted the history approach, the social survey, the questionnaire and in-depth interviews for collecting data. The study was applied on three samples (50 respondents of Alturas' members, 50 respondents of the security, 50 respondents of the public) two respondents of each sample conduct the interview index.

The study concluded that the Alturas is a social movement through which all criteria of social movements can be found; the organization, the consciousness, the collective will, the faith in beliefs, and the conformity to targets and values of the community.  The Alturas is an international, social and ongoing movement which can be weakened but it is difficult to be ruined. Its size, whether few or many members, is conditioned on the mechanisms of dealing with such movement-the Alturas.
