The rhetoric in the military articles of Ron Ben Yishai (structure and function)

Abstract

‏Rhetoric is the art of the writer to persuade the audience in any particular field, and this indicates the ability of the writer to stir the feelings of the recipient or the attention of his audience or transfer knowledge to him.  The writer uses different means to present his different goals which are presented as rhetorical roles.
‏In this research, we shed light on the rhetorical roles in the articles of (Ron Ben-Yishai ), a military correspondent who participated in many wars and was a witness to many events.  He deliveries in his articles the incidents live. These goals are achieved through rhetorical elements that are the basic components of any essay, linguistic means that have an impact on the reader.
‏In this study, we will discuss these rhetorical roles that military journalist Ron Ben Yishai uses in his various articles, and each role is determined according to its importance in the article, which are: (persuading, sarcasm , warning, threatening, ordering, concession, expressing doubt, and expressing reservations  , and accusation ), we start while being convinced that it is the main role among the rhetorical roles, then we will discuss the other roles that our writer uses, as each of the roles is characterized by words and linguistic structures.  Which is a form of presenting this role or the other role in his articles.
‏In this study, we use the descriptive approach in analyzing the texts of Ron Ben-Yishai's articles to reach the most important rhetorical functions found in the collection of articles from the year (2018-2022).
