The situation of quarantine and achieving self-development in light of the Corona pandemic Egypt

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the quarantine situation and individual’s achievement of his future goals in order to achieve self-development in light of the spread of the Corona pandemic of 107 individuals (82 females, 25 males), of whom 25 are married and 81 are unmarried Married, 79 have a university degree, 11 have a doctorate, 16 have a master's degree. 83.17% lives in urban areas and 16.8% of the rural population. Data were collected electronically through the use of the seven-point Likert scale (1 = completely disagree, 2 = disagree, 3 = somewhat disagree, 4 = agree, 5 = somewhat agree 6=agree,7=totally agree). The scale contained topics related to the relationship with family members, use of the place, family responsibility during quarantine, social flexibility during that period, and also axes that measure their personal experiences during the home quarantine situation, self-development, and enhancing self-confidence. The descriptive-analytical approach was used in the methodological procedures. 21.3%, 36%, and 20.56, respectively could be independent and isolated from others without problems if they agreed with the phrase “I consider myself independent from others, for this, I can, in a quarantine situation Isolation from others without problems. Also, 36% of the sample did not fully agree with the statement “I did not care about the attitudes of my friends and family regarding my behavior towards Covid.” And 20.56% of the sample did not fully agree with the phrase "the limited space of the quarantine did not generate a feeling of frustration for me."
