Abstract

The research aims to analyze the reality of civil society organizations in the Sultanate of Oman by focusing on the development and development of Omani society and clarifying the historical roots of these organizations and their role in development. The research also focuses on the role of civil society organizations in activating community participation in local development in the Sultanate of Oman. The research analyzed some concepts related to development, social participation, and civil society institutions. The research revealed the most important structural obstacles that impede the role of civil society institutions in activating social participation in development in the Sultanate of Oman.
